I’ve been spending so much time doodling cuckoo clocks, I haven’t had time to sketch my favorite subject, Cookie Blanca, my beloved English Bulldog and reason for living. But, as it is still pouring rain outside, and I have a subject who is lying perfectly still (albeit snoring like a truck driver), I think I’m going to do one today. Here is a smattering of some previous sketches from The Cook Books, Volumes 1 and 2.
Sometimes I do a little sketch in 30 seconds. Sometimes I work on one that takes all day. The point is, I’m tapping back into my natural-born talent and first art love, drawing with good ol’ fashioned pens and paper.
It’s been such a joyful way to spend any spare moments I have. For me, it is a great way to practice mindfulness and being peaceful. Here are a few more:

Was that too many? Ha Ha. These little sketches and our quiet time together is what’s making us happy these days. And Cookie just turned 10 years old! I’m excited that I will have an illustrated record of my sweet girl to cherish forever. We hope you are enjoying your February as much as we are. We love the rain!
